Alpro Dessert Moments – Hazelnut Chocolate
I’m trying really hard to eat a more animal friendly diet and it’s going alright I guess. I’ve successfully swapped the milk in my tea for oat milk and I’m definitely making more conscious decisions when it comes to shopping. I’m not going full on vegan because I need cheese every now and then and I make cakes all the time. The hardest thing is that I work in a bakery and the cakes call out to me every day. A few Fridays ago I wanted to eat every cake in the shop but then I luckily came across the new Alpro Dessert Moments in Morrisons.
These Alpro Dessert Moments were £2 for four and although at the time my Morrisons only had the Hazelnut Chocolate flavour, they also do Coconut or Almond Vanilla (totally would have gone for Hazelnut Chocolate anyway). For some reason I thought they’d be mousse like but they’re more like chocolate pudding which is fine. The flavour isn’t as chocolatey as other chocolate desserts but it is a nice balance of chocolate and hazelnut and the more I ate, the more I wanted.
They’re totally gluten and dairy free and are suitable for vegans and vegetarians as with all Alpro products. It’s free from colours, is naturally low in fat and contains 30% less sugar than other chilled dairy desserts. They’re also less than 100 calories a pot which is amazing considering I used to take a small fruit yoghurt to work every day and that was 120 calories.
If you’d asked me when I first took a taste I’d have probably said I wouldn’t pick it over other ‘normal’ chilled desserts but now I’ve finished it I want more! The best thing is I can eat it guilt free knowing it’s animal friendly AND healthier than other options.
