Botanique Alcohol Free Vegan Wine
Botonique is an alternative to wine that is lower in calories and sugar, packed with nutrients and is also vegan! It’s great for wine lovers who want to drink a little more responsibly (whether that’s swapping your evening glass for Botonique or just drinking it between glasses to pace yourself), people who don’t drink (like me) or people who can’t drink (designated drivers and breastfeeding mothers for example).
I was sent a sample of Botonique to try as I’m vegan and don’t really drink alcohol that often. I was shocked to find out that a bottle of white wine could contain 645 calories whereas a bottle of Botonique contains just 105! I was so ready to try it!
I did try it on it’s own and the flavour was a bit too strong for me. It does say in the leaflet that came with it that it’s a strong flavour and there were lots of ideas on how to create a drink with less of a punch!
My absolute favourite way I discovered to drink Botonique is to make a little mocktail out of it. You loved my 3 easy mocktail recipes that I posted a few years ago and it would be great in any of those recipes. This time I used a small amount of summer fruits cordial with equal parts of sparkling water and Botonique. It made for a bubbly, fruity drink that was very refreshing!
It can also be used as a mixer according to the leaflet although I didn’t try this as I didn’t have anything to mix it with. You can currently buy it for £7.99 a bottle or £41 for a case of 6 on the Botonique website, Tabl.com and Ocado.
