My Favourite Accidentally Vegan Products
If you’re not a vegan you probably wouldn’t know that a lot of things you already eat are suitable for vegans. There’s even websites and Instagram accounts dedicated to all the ‘accidentally vegan’ products that line the supermarket shelves. These are my favourite accidentally vegan products, but there are many more!
Who doesn’t love an Oreo? My favourite cake to make is a vegan Oreo cake with a chocolate drip so we get through a lot of Oreos in this house!
Staying on the biscuit theme, yes, those little caramelly biscuits you get with your coffee are vegan. What’s even better is that Biscoff spread is vegan too so grab a spoon and tuck in. You have permission.
I have only discovered these since going vegan but my mum says she used to absolutely love them. The mint ones are also vegan and they make great cupcake toppings and are just enough to satisfy a chocolate craving.
I am a long time fan of the Ritz cracker. As good on their own as they are with a topping.
I know you don’t believe me right now but I promise you Bacon Frazzles are suitable for vegans. Perfect for the ‘in it for the animals’ vegan, you get your bacon flavour with no animals harmed in the making.
Don’t think you have to miss out on the sweets as a vegan. As well as lots of specifically vegan sweets, there’s plenty of accidentally vegan ones like skittles. Others include Starburst, lots of supermarket brand strawberry laces and fizzy Percy Pig tails.
Jus Roll Pain au Chocolats
A really easy weekend breakfast. You just roll the little chocolate sticks into the pastry and pop them in the oven. The croissants are vegan too.
The doughnuts you get from the bakery section of the co-op? Yep they’re suitable for vegans (even the custards filled ones!)
These are just a few of my favourite accidentally vegan treats. What are yours? Remember to check the ingredients before you buy as they could change! If you want to know about the accidentally vegan snacks we found in New York check out our Duane Reade haul post!
