Cornflake Cakes
Cornflake cakes are really easy to make and taste great.
Ingredients
-
50g Unsalted Butter
-
100g Dark Chocolate
-
2.5 tbsp Golden Syrup
-
80g Cornflakes
-
1 pack Cadbury Mini Eggs
Directions
Just before I went home for easter we had a mini easter here in London. We decided to celebrate by making cornflake cakes. They’re so easy and quick to make and they’re basically chocolate on chocolate with some extra sugar which is just heaven really.
We used Cadbury mini eggs but later that week on a pick’n’mix binge we discovered that wilko’s version tastes good too. They don’t taste like the real cadbury ones but to be honest they’re just for decoration. The actual cornflake cake is the main event here. These were great for easter, but I could eat them any time!
Slowly melt the butter, chocolate and golden syrup in a pan on the hob. Once well combined, stir in the cornflakes so that they are all covered.
Put 12 paper cupcake cases on a tray. Divide the mix evenly between the uses and leave to set for 1 hour in the fridge.
