These James Bond themed cupcakes were for a surprise 50th birthday party so they were well and truly undercover cupcakes! I got asked to make these when I made this White Chocolate and Cranberry cake, so I’ve had plenty of time to prepare. I made 46 vanilla cupcakes to go alongside a bigger cake. The cases and toppers were given to me but you can find them online. My Cupcake Toppers have a big range and you can upload your own image too.

I used the same recipe for the sponge as my Mr. Whippy cupcakes minus the jam swirls and just used four times the ingredients. the recipe below makes 12 so you can multiply if you need to.

Step 1
Mark as Complete

Preheat the oven to 160º and line a muffin tin with cupcake cases. Cream together the butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy before adding both eggs and mixing until well combined. Add the flour, vanilla and salt and fold together. Add the milk and mix.

Step 2
Mark as Complete

Put about a tablespoon of the mixture into each cake case and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.

Step 3
Mark as Complete

Once cooled mix together the icing sugar and butter. When combined, add the milk and vanilla extract. Use a piping bag with a star tip to swirl on the icing. Before the icing sets, put the toppers on the cupcakes.
