Now, no-one wants to be up at the crack of dawn on a weekend to make croissant dough so I tested out Jus Roll’s ready made croissant dough. I’ve seen reviews before that said they were horrible. However the pack states it’s a new improved recipe so I thought I’d give it a go. It costs £1.50-£2 and makes 6 croissants.
In my opinion they stand somewhere between a fresh croissant and a ready made one you buy in packs. They do taste a bit over vanilla-ry but if you haven’t got time to make them from scratch this is a really good option to have. There’s also the added bonus of it making your house smell delicious!
The Kit Kat in the centre was great because the chocolate became all melty and the wafer gave it a bit of bite. I used one normal sized Kit Kat finger (as opposed to Chunky) per croissant. It was just enough to get a chocolate hit but not feel like you were eating dessert for breakfast.
Because I used ready made dough the recipe is really quick and easy to make.
