Vegan Halloween Gummy Worm Brownies
When it comes to Halloween baking, it’s always fun to lean into the spooky and playful side of things. These Vegan Halloween Gummy Worm Brownies are the perfect example of that. Imagine a tray of rich, fudgy vegan brownies dressed up to look like mud, topped with crushed cookies for “dirt,” and finished with wiggly gummy worms (or even gummy spiders!) poking out of the surface. It’s a dessert that looks creepy/cute enough to impress at any Halloween party, but is still completely delicious and indulgent.
One of the best parts about this recipe is how easy it is to keep it fully plant based without sacrificing the fun decorations. In the past, finding vegan gummy sweets could be tricky, but nowadays they’re much more widely available. In fact, I recently came across a wide variety of vegan gummies at Aldi in the UK, perfect for Halloween baking projects like this. From classic gummy worms to spiders and other creepy crawlies, you can get creative with how you decorate your brownies. They add the perfect chewy contrast to the brownie and make the dessert look straight out of a haunted graveyard.
The brownies themselves are wonderfully rich and chocolatey, made without any dairy or eggs. Instead, simple pantry staples like plant based milk and oil combine to create that dense, fudgy texture brownie lovers crave. Once baked and cooled, a layer of crushed biscuits goes on top to mimic soil, and then the fun begins! Pressing gummy worms, spiders, and other vegan sweets into the “mud” so they look like they’re wriggling out.
These brownies aren’t just a Halloween showstopper. They’re also a fantastic make-ahead option, since they store well and taste even better the next day. Whether you’re hosting a party, baking for trick-or-treaters, or just want something festive for your family, these Vegan Halloween Gummy Worm Brownies will bring equal parts delight and fright to your spooky season celebrations.
