Vegan White Chocolate Drip Recipe

Ingredients

  • 190g vegan white chocolate
  • 80ml coconut milk (from a tin)
  • White gel food colouring (optional)
  • Gel food colouring of your choice

How to Make Vegan White Chocolate Drip

  1. Heat the coconut milk in a saucepan until it just begins to boil.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and immediately add the vegan white chocolate.
  3. Stir until the chocolate has completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  4. Add a small amount of white gel food colouring if using. This helps neutralise the natural yellow tint of white chocolate and creates a brighter base colour.
  5. Add your chosen gel food colouring a little at a time until you reach your desired shade.
  6. Leave the drip to cool slightly before using.
  7. Test the consistency by spooning a small amount over the edge at the back of your chilled cake. If it runs too far, leave the drip to cool for a few more minutes before testing again.
  8. Once the consistency is right, spoon or pipe the drip around the edge of the cake before filling in the centre.

Top Tips

  • Always use gel food colouring rather than liquid colouring.
  • Chill your cake before adding the drip for better control.
  • Test the drip on the back of the cake first.
  • If the drip becomes too thick, gently warm it for a few seconds.
  • Stir gently to avoid creating air bubbles.

Variations

  • Leave it uncoloured for a classic ivory white drip.
  • Create pastel shades for baby showers and spring cakes.
  • Make bright colours for birthday cakes.
  • Add a tiny amount of edible glitter for a subtle shimmer.
  • Use different colours for seasonal celebrations like Halloween or Christmas.
